After qualifying in 1996 and working for two of her Tutors in five practices across Essex and East Sussex Kate Miles honed her Osteopathic skills and learnt a great deal about how to run a business. Armed with this information plus thoughts on location the search for suitable premises began.
On 1st November 1997 the lease on The High Street, New Romney was signed and after three weeks of building and decorating work Romney Marsh Osteopaths was open for business. Initially as expected the patient list grew slowly but after one year the practice was busy enough to take on its first employee and gradually, as the demand increased, extra working days and reception staff were added to the diary.
2003 proved to be a big year, not only did we take on our first Osteopathic Assistant, who Kate met during her 18 month Paediatrics teaching stint back at her old college clinic, she also re-located the business to 39 Littlestone Road. As a consequence patients are now offered off road parking, ground floor premises, three treatment rooms and disabled access/facilities. The move has proved very successful, Romney Marsh Osteopaths is now proud to house two Osteopaths, five Receptionists and several other Therapists.
Kate Miles, BSc. (Ost) Hons, qualified from the E.S.O. in 1996. Over the years Kate has highly developed her skill and interest in Cranial Osteopathy and has consequently undertaken post graduate study with both the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy and the Upledger Institute of Cranio-Sacral Therapy. She is now focused on completing an extensive program of study to develop her knowledge of the impact of stress and emotional trauma on the body and to allow her to hone her ability to deal with this challenging area of treatment. She therefore offers a gentle yet effective route to rehabilitation from a wide range of ailments for Hands-On Treatment for Adults, Babies and Children plus Talking Therapies and Sanomentology (a deep reaching visualisation approach to hypnotherapy) for adults.
