Hi, I’m Kate from Romney Marsh Osteopaths and the Stress Consultant and this is my Study Blog:
Introduction:
Since qualifying as an Osteopath in 1996 I have developed my skill and interest in Cranial Osteopathy and undertaken post graduate study with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy and the Upledger Institute of Cranio-Sacral Therapy.
However, I over time I realised that pain and suffering are not always physically traumatic in origin, so I started to talk to people on a deeper level, which proved beneficial, but I often felt there was more at work than I was qualified to approach. Consequently I started to recommend patients consult a Talking Therapist, but they felt comfortable with me and didn’t want to ‘start again with a stranger’.
After a long period of contemplation, in 2016, I made the decision that I wanted to be the fully rounded practitioner these patients required and therefore I needed to gain more knowledge. So I started to study Life Coaching and I have since committed to an extensive program of further study to develop my understanding of not just the impact of stress and emotional trauma on the body but also what to do about it.
April/May/June Update:
Well during April I continued going into work each day to do the essential admin for the practice and so as I wasn’t able to see patients I decided to use my spare time wisely and crack on with my Sanomentology Case Studies, my online training and my exam. And by the end of the month I am very pleased to say I received my qualification.
During May, whilst waiting for my Insurance to be authorised I worked on my Sanomentology Protocols and continued treating my Case study patients to clear their remaining unseen emotional residue from past events as well as those newly imposed by lockdown and its resultant health fears which has proved both powerful and beneficial. This was a great apprenticeship opportunity.
May was also utilised to get my practice ready to re-open and since the start of June I have been both Practitioner and Receptionist in a very different working environment. However, whilst I wait on the outcome of my CBT exam my plans now extend to picking back up my conventional Hypnotherapy training plus getting going with my Specialist Counsellor and Nutrition for Allergies and chronic Conditions training.
